    Cupping

Suction cups that lift the fascia, boost circulation and free up stubborn areas of tightness that pressure alone cannot reach.

    What it helps with

    Where cupping makes the difference.

Where massage pushes down, cupping pulls up. That decompression can improve local blood flow, reduce restriction in stubborn areas and give the nervous system a completely different input, which often unlocks tissue that has been stuck.

    Stuck upper back

That plate of tension across the shoulder blades that never quite lets go.

    Restricted fascia

Whole regions that feel bound down, not just one muscle.

    Tight legs

Quads, calves and IT band tissue in runners, cyclists and tradies.

    Old scar tissue

Long standing adhesions from previous injury or surgery.

    Your session

    What a session looks like.

Cupping uses silicone or glass cups to create gentle negative pressure on the skin and underlying tissue. Cups can be held in place or glided over the muscle for a more dynamic release.

    01
    Assessment first

Your myotherapist starts with a real conversation about your history, your goals and how the pain behaves through the week, followed by hands on and movement assessment.

    02
    Focused treatment

Your myotherapist places cups over the target area for a few minutes at a time, sometimes moving them along the muscle. Sensations are usually a firm, lifting pressure. You may notice temporary marks, which fade over a few days and are not bruises.

    Technique explained

We talk you through why we are using cupping for your presentation, what you can expect to feel and how it fits with the other tools we have.

    04
    Take home plan

You leave with two or three simple things to do between sessions so the change you feel today actually holds through the week.

    Is this right for you

    Who it suits.

    • Chronic upper back and shoulder tension
    • Restricted fascia
    • Tight quads, calves and IT band regions
    • Long standing scar tissue
    How it fits

    Part of a bigger plan.

Cupping usually earns its place alongside hands on work rather than replacing it. We often use it early in a session to open up a stuck area, then follow with deep tissue work or dry needling on the specific structures underneath. Pair it with corrective exercise for lasting change, and see our page on the conditions we treat for the bigger picture.

After only 4 visits I have made so much progress. Thank you Arielle for all you are doing for me.
